Hungry and Cranky

Hello and happy Wednesday to you!  Ten days until I leave for vacation!  Should I be worried that the next 8 have rain in the forecast in Montego Bay?  That’s normal for the tropics, right?

So, for those of you who asked, I believe my sister’s curling wand is a Con Air one.  This one, to be specific, and I highly recommend it.  Apparently it also comes with a protective glove for your fingers, but you don’t really need it if you’re careful.

In other news, as awful as I know it is for me, I am dieting like a mad woman for the next ten days.  No booze, no cheese, no carbs, and a meal replacement shake instead of real food for lunch.  In other words, I am a hungry, cranky, bitch.  Making it through the afternoon yesterday was a struggle and working out felt like torture.  However, my teeny tiny bikinis arrived in the mail on Monday, and I wouldn’t mind being 5 lbs thinner and missing alcohol bloat when I go to put them on next week, so it’s worth it.

The workout was what seemed like the hardest run of my life, a hilly 5k alternating between 0% incline and 3% incline, followed by the pyramid push-up workout.  By the time I made it home for dinner, I was ravenous and ready to eat a toddler.  Unfortunately, toddler was not on the menu, but chicken and a roasted sweet potato were.  I made sweet potato wedges using cinnamon and nutmeg, and had some of the rotisserie chicken I purchased on Monday night.  I plan on having the same thing for dinner tonight.  Exciting.

I rounded out my evening sipping on some flavored seltzer water and enjoying my favorite night of TV.  Can’t wait until the SOA season finale next week.  Dar and I have are suspicious as to what may happen, and I’m hoping we’re wrong because it would make me really sad to be right.  Charlie Hunnam was shirtless and you saw his ass last night, so it was a great episode by my count.

Happy last day of November!

What a Moron

Just to prove that I am becoming increasingly incapable of doing anything before I have coffee in my system, this morning I left the next three days worth of lunch and breakfast (in frozen meal form) sitting out on my counter, next to the coffee maker.  So sad, mostly because now I have nothing to eat at work today.  And no, I do not plan on throwing said meals out, they will be re-frozen and eaten eventually.  That shit is expensive. If I die, you will all know why.

Anywayyyy, yesterday I drug my poor sore muscles, seriously even the backs of my knees hurt, across the street for 45 minutes on the elliptical during lunch.  I’m thinking about trying to add a second day of lifting into my schedule for the next three weeks.  That means I’ll actually need to get myself to the gym on Saturday’s, so we’ll see how that goes.

In other news, the J. Crew holiday catalog arrived yesterday, and since they own my soul I obviously want EVERYTHING.  Not even kidding, I don’t think I saw one thing I didn’t like.  I specifically would like this whole outfit please.  Mom, Col, Darren?  (Darren refuses to read my blog, I had to text him this picture :) )

My favoritest show ever, SOA, kept me up until 11:30 last night with its 90 minutes of intense action, and I think I’ve figured out what about Jax Teller is so damn attractive to me.  Besides his obviously sexy looks.  Darren and him make the exact same “I’m so fucking mad I want to kill you” face!  Jaw clenched, head tilted back, eyes big, the exact same.  It actually made me laugh.  Anyway, Sons was intense last night, and if this season doesn’t wrap up all these damn cliffhangers the end every episode on, I may throw something at the TV.  Three episodes left!

Could you handle all the random in that post?  Clearly the coffee set in once I got to work.  Happy Wednesday!

Sorry, I’m Not Sorry

I brought a blanket in to work today.  Until I can illegally smuggle a space heater in, that will have to keep me warm.  I refuse to sit at my desk wearing my coat, scarf, and gloves all winter again this year.  Sorry I’m not sorry.

My hair is actually down and straightened for the second day in a row (because I didn’t wash it yesterday) and I think people are having a hard time recognizing me.  I even have some makeup on.  If this meeting gets cancelled again, I resolve to give up on my appearance.

I had a pretty great workout last night that involved a 2.5 mile run and 25 minutes on the elliptical, followed by push-ups and abs.  Yes, that’s right I did not wash my hair after that, and I am not one of those people who doesn’t sweat when they work out.  I’m just gross and don’t care.

After the workout, all I could think about was getting home and stuffing food in my face.  Unfortunately, once I got home I still had to make it.  At the grocery store on Sunday I bought the ingredients for both Stuffed Peppers and Sausage and Peppers, and decided to go with whatever I felt like when the time came.  Last night it was stuffed peppers, and they were just as delicious as always.

except, I also added cheese

Sorry I’m not sorry, sometimes cheese really does make everything better.  I stayed up past my bedtime watching Sons last night, and that show is really starting to give me anxiety.  I don’t want to ruin it for anyone who watches and may have missed it, so all I’ll say is WTF Clay, WTF?  Darren called me the second next weeks previews played, and he didn’t even wait for me to say hello before he started venting.  I’m sad there’s only three more episodes left of the season.

Anyways, happy Wednesday!  We’re half way to another weekend!

A Case of the Friday’s?

Well today has started off just swimmingly. I totally underestimated the amount of coffee left in my travel mug and in an attempt to chug the last drops, ended up spilling it all down the side of my face, onto my shoulder and white pants.  YAY!  Also, I came into two notes on my desk to expect some projects that will be due by COB today.  Wonderful.  Don’t they know it’s a holiday weekend and we’ll be leaving early?  Ugh, happy Friday.

Yesterday I managed to get rid of my headache once lunch time rolled around, and headed out to the gym after pretending my salad with grilled chicken was actually a delicious Five Guys cheeseburger.  I see a cheeseburger in my future this weekend, fyi.  3.5 mile run followed by some stretching and random yoga poses.  Mainly this and this, because the group fitness room was empty and it was fun.

past attempts at crow, I'm better now

My evening involved a lot of lounging around and TV watching.  I caught up on the first 4 episodes of SOA, thanks to Netflix, and am really hoping they can have the next disc to me by tomorrow.  Fingers crossed!

Tonight I think I’m headed to Alexandria for a dinner date with some ladies, and then we’ll see where the night takes us.  I got paid today, and am no longer broke as a joke, so I’m letting someone else cook for me tonight.

I hope you all have a delightfully lovely weekend.  Later!

I’m in Love

A conversation:

Me: “Man, earthquake on Tuesday, hurricane over the weekend, I wonder what’s going to happen next.”
Dar: “I really need to get you off the East coast immediately.”
Me: “Yes, because getting buried by 3 feet of snow every winter is much more appealing.”
Dar: “But we handle it better here, 3 feet is like 3 inches.”
Me: “I don’t care.  If there are 3 feet of snow on the ground I don’t want to have to go anywhere.  I want the city to shut down for 2 weeks.”

So yeah, looks like I need to go stock up on necessities after work today.  By that I mean wine and potato chips, obviously.  I need to have things I can eat if we lose power people, which we probably will.  There is a very large tree in our front yard whose branches hang precariously close to the power lines, also running through are front yard.  Note to self, remember not to park under said giant tree today.

Yesterday I managed to get back and forth from the gym during brief breaks in the rain and did 2 miles on the treadmill followed by 20 minutes on the elliptical.  I wanted to run more, but my sore legs were dead after my Wednesday lifting session.  Oh well.

The evening brought about excitement in the forms of a new TV show addiction.  Dar’s favorite show is Sons of Anarchy, and he insisted that I start watching, he even sent me the Season 1 DVDs (that I bought him) after he finished with them.  Go figure, his favorite show is about a motorcycle gang of tattooed outlaws.  Anyway, I’m in love, mostly with this guy:

Well hello Charlie Hunnam, aka Jax Teller.  Clearly I am also a sucker for a sexy tattooed man, I mean have you seen my boyfriend?  Sigh.  The show is really good, I’m on episode 9 of the first season, and I’ve already requested Dar put season 2 in the mail for me.  I also may have suggested he rethink his desire for a stupid “crotch rocket” and get a Harley instead :) .

Alright, well I have to make it through my half day at work, then it’s off to prepare for the storm! Have a good weekend!
